Chapter 5
Everyone was stuck at Cole’s place, bored to their bones. They couldn’t do a lot thanks to the cold. They wanted to do something indoors. A sorm was suppose to be coming in that night and it showed very much outside.
“What are we going to do now,” Robyn looked at Scott.
“Uh…I can take you to the mall…the zoo…we have a new star thing!” Scott grinned. “You lean back in chairs and they show you all this cool stuff and you can play Star Wars!”
“Naw,” Robyn waved off. “That’s more of a Rowen thing and none of us want to be like him, do we?”
“What,” Rowen popped his head in though the doorway from the living room.
“Lynn’s dad said I have to take extra care of Lynn AND Robyn because he has to take a stupid trip to New York and then Florida. I said ‘Well, Mr. Nilles, you’re very lucky to be able to get away. I have to take care of two lovely women and stay clean and sleep in my own bed.’ He just laughed. I have to take that trip to Denver too. That’s going to suck!” Cole laughed and took a seat next to Sage. “Well, too bad for him.”
“Well, I think it’s too bad for you,” Sage chuckled and flicked another rubber band at Rowen’s head.
Rowen just rubbed the back of his head and changed the channel on the TV again.
“Looks like he’s lost feeling in the back of his head,” Ryo chuckled.
The phone rang again so Cole left and answered it. It was a call for the meeting and he would only be the week. It would give Lynn and Robyn enough time to have some trouble though.
Cole left for Denver after he bothered the girls some more and did some quick chores. He took Colt with him.
“Well with him gone, it might be easier to have fun,” Lynn chuckled.
“Yeah,” Scott beamed. “We can have like a campfire theme tonight for dinner. Like roast hotdogs and marshmallows!”
“We can start a fire in Cole’s yard,” Cye asked raising his eyebrow.
“Why not,” Scott shrugged.
“Scott.” Lynn interrupted. But Scott didn’t hear her and continued on.
“It’s not real grass anyway. It’s more like dirt and grass. I’ll dig a pit. And we’ll leave a bucket of water by it.” Scott nodded
“Scott,” Lynn said again.
“I better run to the store though…” Scott went into the kitchen to get his car keys.
“Scott,” Lynn said louder.
“What?”
“Cole has a pit out there for that, and second, it’s too cold to do that!” Lynn put her hands on her hips.
“So, what are we going to do,” Cye asked.
“The mall, museum, arcade,” Scott started off.
“So many choices,” Rowen said sarcastically.
“I bet we still could do the campfire but it wouldn’t be too pleasant if it rains on us.” Lynn chuckled.
“Well, I say we go explore around and see if we can find anything,” Kento said quietly.
“I know a lot of places we can go,” Lynn said. “I don’t know how to explore and not find something interesting.”
“So where can we go that is interesting,” Rowen asked.
Scott smiled, “I can’t stop us from going swimming…I know a nice swim park with lots of slides and it doesn’t get very crowded on Wednesdays…”
“Scott!” Lynn outraged. “It’s cold out there!”
“Oh, yeah…” Scott sat back into a chair.
“Would it be too cold for a zoo,” Robyn asked.
“Yeah,” Ryo nodded. “Lets go to the Zoo, that’s always fun!”
#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#
Everyone had to bring jackets. The zoo was half outside and the weather was about the get really cold for this storm. It would possibly rain or the wind would pick after that they would have to retreat to the indoors where they didn’t want to be.
The zoo had a couple schools visiting but that didn’t screw up anyone’s day. They walked around and visited all the pens. They came to a fork and the sign said ‘CATS’ and pointed right while the other sign said ‘ELEPHANTS’ and pointed left.
“This way,” Robyn pulled Cye right.
“Like we have a choice,” Rowen whispered to Kento.
Kento nodded and laughed.
“They just got a White Tiger in it. I think its Siberian but they don’t have the signs up yet. It’s kinda cool,” Scott said as he led them to the Tiger’s pen.
“He’s pretty…Did they name him yet?” Robyn leaned on the cement wall.
“I think there is a male and female,” Scott explained. “The male is…I think is Blade and the female is Holly Berry. The one here is Holly,” Scott read of the newest sign.
The male came out slow; he went and drank out of the stream going though their area. He was a bit larger then Holly and walked around proudly. Ryo took note that they were younger and smaller then White Blaze. They stood there for a minute to watch them play.
“Oh look! It’s a Cougar,” Robyn said sweetly. “Isn’t she cute?”
“Her name is Connie,” Scott laughed. “And the Bobcat is Bonnie and the leopard is Leonard.” Scott and Cye laughed.
“Oh, what a sweet name,” Robyn said.
“Lets hit the fish next,” Cye said as he looked at the sign.
“OH! You’ll like this exhibit! You walk though a tunnel and look at the fish though glass. When I went to San Diego they had similar but this is pretty good,” Scott said as he started walking off in that direction. “Truly I wish I could take you San Diego or Texas. That’s good.”
Everyone looked at each other and followed quietly. Lynn and Robyn stayed last in the group just so they could see the sights. They passed some Wolves and Coyotes, that was where Lynn really slowed down and they all had to wait for Lynn to stop dreaming. They passed a bird cage and saw some very pretty eagles. Parrots were all in one big cage while the eagles were in their own. They passed a Bison and Elk area and that was really funny to Robyn. Kento would laugh and agree saying something about hamburgers.
Cye was starting to get impatient when Robyn took them the long way but waited for his turn. Finally they came to the fish exhibit and everyone went on their own pace while Cye took his time and daydreamed. They were mostly trout bass but when they got indoors, they had about three sharks and a couple tropical fish. Cye smiled big and wondered back to the group. It wasn’t that good but it was interesting with lots of fish facts, not that he didn’t know anything. Robyn wondered off on her own and ended up sitting on a chair drinking some water. She figured that they were going to come back this way and come and get her. She really didn’t want to wonder off some more because they might never find her! That would be a funny picture of Cye’s face.
Robyn giggled at the thought of Cye’s face if Kento had to tell him that Robyn was lost. That would kind of suck for Kento. Robyn looked around and saw Kento walking toward her.
“Hey, I was worried that you went back to the cats,” Kento chuckled. “We’re getting something to eat. Then we’re going to see about going to the park.” Kento sat by Robyn. “You up for it,” he asked.
“Sure, I don’t see anything wrong. I was getting hungry anyway,” Robyn grabbed Kento’s hand and Kento led her out and over to the group. Cye was sitting on a bench talking to Ryo. They all agreed to get subs. They left the zoo and went to Sub Way, since they didn’t have a sub booth at the zoo, and rushed over to the park where they sat in the shade and rested. Robyn and Ryo went to swing while Kento started a game of tag. It didn’t get far because of the weather again.
“This weather sucks,” Rowen commented roughly as he got back in the car to go back home.
“I know,” Kento agreed.
“I wonder if I can do anything about it,” Rowen whispered very hushed.
Kento shrugged.
He was about to come up with an idea but Lynn jumped in the car and sat by Rowen.
#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#
Scott took them downtown. He needed to get stuff for his campfire that was now going to happen in the fireplace. Robyn and Lynn ended up shopping around at yard sales. The Ronins split thesleves and went with either the girls or with Scott. When they met back together, they had an unexpected, unwelcome guest.
“So,” a voice said quietly. “We just keep running into each other.”
They all turned and saw Roy sitting on his street racer. He had a dig grin on his face and looked excited somehow.
“Is there something we can help you with,” Lynn asked.
“Where’s Cole,” Roy asked adding a grin.
“Wouldn’t you like to know,” Ryo snickered
“Armor up,” Roy said plainly.
“WHAT!” Kento choked and spit out some of the pop he was drinking.
“Armor up,” Roy said plainly.
Ryo looked at everyone’s expressions, they were shocked. He couldn’t lie and say they didn’t have any armor…He looked at Rowen for some help.
“What armor,” Rowen asked. “We know fighting arts but we don’t use armor to fight.”
“There’s some kind of…energy coming from that is similar to another’s power I know,” Roy got up and got out of his car and walked slyly toward the group.
Lynn looked confused and out of this world.
Scott glared at this new object in their day.
“How do you know this,” Cye asked quickly.
“What, the armors or your power?” Roy laughed, “I feel it.”
“WHAT IN BRIGHT LIGHTS ARE YOU GUYS TALKING ABOUT!?!?!” Lynn yelled and stood up off of the trunk of her car.
“Later,” Kento snapped. “What are you talking about,” He asked toward Roy.
“Okay, you five have armors. I’m back for revenge.”
“Okay,” Ryo raised an eyebrow.
Scott was still fuming and Lynn didn’t look too confused now. Robyn was though. She stood there confused and shook her head.
“You know what I’m talking about,” Roy grinned.
“Get lost,” Kento said.
“I guess I will have to force your armors to surface,” Roy shrugged. “Oh well.”
Ryo stepped forward and shook his head.
Roy then paused, turned quickly and left as if he was late for dinner and his mother made his favorite pie. Everyone watched him go and didn’t move till they knew he was gone and everyone was safe.
“It’s time for some more talking,” Robyn sighed.
“Yup, should we go home or finish shopping,” Rowen asked.
“YEAH RIGHT! Like we feel safe as it is,’ Scott exclaimed.
“Alright,” Ryo nodded. “Let’s hurry home and talk about this.”
“I’ll go with the girls,” Sage added.
“You’re not driving,” Robyn snickered.
“Why not,” Lynn asked.
Sage just laughed softly and got in the driver’s seat before Robyn could really object.
#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#
“You think he’s talking the truth,” Rowen asked as we entered Cole’s place.
“I don’t know but he didn’t seem to be joking,” Ryo thought.
“We’ll be putting you in danger,” Cye clarified toward Lynn and Scott.
Scott sat down and looked as if he expected a good story.
Ryo sat down on the couch and told them just the fact that they have armors to protect the world. Nothing about Talpa but the fact that they had used them before.
“And you should see White Blaze,” Kento nodded.
“White Blaze,” Lynn asked confused still.
“Our tiger,” Ryo explained.
“You guys have a tiger,” Scott asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Yeah,” Ryo grinned.
“NO FAIR!” Lynn pouted. “You could have brought him too!”
“No,” Cye shook his head.
“He wasn’t into it,” Rowen waved his hand.
“The things we went though were sometimes unbearable,” Ryo closed his eyes. “Torture, fear, seeing each other suffer, I would hate to do it again.”
“But we’d do it again,” Cye nodded.
Lynn didn’t know that her old friend had a bunch of heroes. Her life was boring. Scott looked also amazed. He took it all in though and tried to understand.
After they explained it all, Cye told them that they couldn’t tell anyone for their safety. They understood and went to thinking about the fireplace.
Lynn got a call from Cole saying he wanted to come with her a while to see his dad. He got hurt and needed their help. Lynn protested because of Robyn and asked if Scott could substitute but Cole told her that he would probably be gone a long time without her. She told him that she would come when she felt more comfortable and she’ll get them a ride back to Japan.
“Hey guys,” Scott came inside. “We don’t have enough firewood. Can someone go out and get some?”
“Sure,” Ryo nodded as he grabbed his jacket. “Hey Robyn, come with me to get firewood.”
“Why,” Robyn asked.
“Because it’ll be fun,” Ryo shrugged.
“Alright,” Robyn grabbed her jacket and trudged out the door.
“Be careful,” Cye call after them.
Robyn and Ryo had took an old two wheel drive truck and went onto a dirt road which was already a bit slippery but nothing that good old Ryo couldn’t handle. Ryo had jean pants on while Robyn had some shorts and a t-shirt on. She didn’t think the weather was going to get any worse and it was only going to take thirty minutes.
Robyn began to notice the clouds getting darker and the wind was beginning to pick up.
“Maybe I should have worn sweats,” Robyn commented. “It looks cold out there.”
“We shouldn’t be long,” Ryo comforted.
“I really don’t like the look of those clouds,” Robyn sounded worried now.
“Don’t worry, if we hurry, we can get back and have smores,” Ryo grinned and handled the rough roads. “I want to know who made thses roads though, they sure are bumpy.”
That was least of Robyn’s worried but nodded anyway and held on.
#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#
“Dangit Kento,” Rowen outraged. “Why do you have to be so stupid?”
“I’m NOT! I’m just…Focused on taking this the easy slow way. It’s easier to understand then your stupid fractions!”
“SHUT-UP YOU TWO,” Cye yelled. “You can’t work together if you’re fighting!”
“No shit, Cye,” Rowen muttered.
“Rowen,” Sage muttered back, putting his hand on Rowen’s shoulder.
Scott almost blushed at the site he created. All he asked was that Kento and Rowen get some screws from the shed. Then he asked them to read the directions to putting an electronic model together.
“Okay guys,” Lynn announced. “I’m leaving.”
“WHAT,” Scott outraged. “You’re going to meet Cole after all!”
“No, but if the fighting continues I might just steal Robyn and we’ll sneak off to the ranch,” Lynn smiled at her reply’s reaction.
Everyone went quiet and Scott looked hurt.
Lynn chuckled, “I going to go get some groceries and maybe some fabric to keep me busy. You guys can deal this out.” Lynn looked at Sage. He was the only one who really wasn’t fighting. “Sage, try to keep the peace.” Sage nodded. “Would you like to come, Cye,” Lynn offered.
“Uh, sure,” Cye replied and grabbed his jacket.
Lynn walked over and opened the door. At an instant, lightning flashed with a quick follow of thunder. The wind was blowing harder and she shut the door, blinking in confusion. “Wow, that set in fast,” she said amazed.
Rowen stayed with Scott in the living room and worked on the model. Kento and Sage went downstairs and played video games. This seamed to help. Sage had to go upstairs though to get snacks and drinks.
#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#
“Great,” Ryo growled as he tried to steer the truck down the slippery road. “It’s getting worse.”
“Oh, thanks! Like I needed to know that,” Robyn held on as they slid down the road and prayed that Ryo could get them out. That might have been what jinxed them.
“Do not tell me we’re stuck,” Robyn sighed.
“Okay, we’re not stuck,” Ryo smiled. He pushed the petal harder and mud splashed behind them as they went in deeper.
“I don’t want to get out…” Robyn whined
“It’s cold but we need to get home. Help me get some of these branches in front of the tires so they can grab something and we can get out of here.”
Robyn gulped and grabbed her only jacket in the car and got out. It was so slippery, she could hardly stand up. They did get out and both were very muddy. Robyn was cold and wet while Ryo was thinking how to escape the next hole.
Within five minutes, they were stuck again. Ryo cursed quietly and got back out side. This one they couldn’t get out. They tried everything they could think of. They were still a mile and a half from the paved road. Ryo didn’t want to push the car or try to push the petal more because of all the trees around them. They stood out in the rain, looking at each other hoping something would come to mind.
“I’m not walking,” Robyn said as Ryo looked down the road.
“How long do you think the rain will last,” Ryo asked.
“Long enough,” Robyn mumbled. “I’m cold, why don’t we try something one more time and if it doesn’t work, we’ll sit in the car and wait for the rain to stop and maybe Cye will come save us or something…”
Ryo laughed,” Alright, lets hurry,” he grabbed another stick and shoved it under the tire. Robyn did this to the front tires. Ryo then got in and hit the petal hard. Nothing happened. The mud made the wood slippery and it was too late.
#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#
“Robyn and Ryo aren’t back yet,” Rowen mentioned.
“The rain’s getting bad,” Scott added. “I don’t think my cell is with them either.”
“We should go look for them…” Rowen got up and looked out at the window.
“After the rain, it’s no good if we both get stuck in the mud. My truck is a 4-wheeler but still,” Scott shook his head. “Where I sent them is pretty bad. Someone died once up there.” Scott thought about that morning. He should have been nicer to Robyn.
“What happened,” Rowen asked mentioning the guy dieing.
“Oh, he slid off the road and his car slid into a tree.” Scott answer was too simple. Rowen didn’t push him though.
Rowen just nodded and kept his eyes outside.
Cye and Lynn started dinner. It was getting too late and the rain didn’t stop to slow down. The house though stayed quiet. They did get out a board game and started one. Though they didn’t finish it, it got everyone together and the house in a good mood again.
Cye didn’t really know what to think. Of course she was in good hands because she was with Ryo but Cye wasn’t with her and this worried him. He wanted to be there and protect her and no matter how hard the rain fell, Cye could only wish she was there in the building giving him more grey hairs.
Scott and Rowen only could glance out the window as well. Scott felt abandoned in some way. He was really harsh on her and he regretted that. Rowen, for the first time in a while, didn’t know what to think. Like Cye, he wanted her to be safe and near him but there was nothing for him to do. Maybe go out in his armor and search for them. He knew that would give them away and there was no need for that.
Kento and Sage were the two calm ones. Kento had faith that she was safe and Sage tried to keep everyone calm as well. He had faith that Ryo would keep them safe. Ryo wouldn’t let anything happen to her. Not on his life. They all knew that.
Scott didn’t mention how bad those roads up where Ryo and Robyn were could get so bad to everyone else. He told them though that he would go back out when it lightened up. Cye agreed and said he would go as well as Kento. Rowen and Sage agreed to stay home and wait in case something happened. Lynn, as much as she wanted to go up and help her old friend, she would only be in the way and make things worse.
#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#
Ryo and Robyn had now retreated to the truck’s shelter. Robyn was still cold and Ryo was still trying to figure out how to get them out of this predicament. They didn’t talk for a while. Then Ryo noticed they were muddy, wet, cold, and miserable. He remembered something about hyperthermia and water. Then something hit him like a bullet hitting its target. Robyn was going though hyperthermia! She was shivering and she was still wet and cold.
Ryo turned on the heater but the old truck’s heater was broke. Another problem Scott failed to mention. Ryo hesitated before turning the heater off. He took off his shirt and leaned back into his seat.
Robyn glanced at the topless Ryo. She’d seen him topless before but this time it was different. He looked more heroic and wet. It was just……sexy.
Ryo didn’t notice Robyn glaring at his chest as he thought. He turned and saw in the back only some snacks, two blankets and an air pump. How lucky could they get? This was horrible! When Ryo grabbed the blanket and turned to Robyn, Robyn looked away quickly and looked at the rain turn to hail.
“Great,” Ryo mumbled as he noticed that he couldn’t keep her in wet clothes and put a dry blanket over her! That would make it worse!
“What,” Robyn asked.
“Robyn, take off your clothes,” Ryo ordered.
Robyn’s eyes grew, “Why!”
“You’ll freeze if you don’t,” Ryo sighed. He was really nervous. This was their last resort though and the last thing they needed was her sick again.
“What about you,” She asked, still not moving.
“I’m undressing too…” Ryo took off his pants and looked at Robyn who hadn’t moved a centimeter. “Robyn…”
“You’re crazed,” She said shaking her head.
“No Robyn! Your going to freeze, in heath we learned about hyperthermia, remember? You’re going to get it if you don’t get those cold wet clothes off and dry off. There’s a blanket back here. Just strip to your underwear and wrap up in the blanket. I’m going to undress too.”
Robyn looked embarrassed. The look on Ryo’s face told her if she didn’t, he would take the clothes of her himself. Though she knew he wouldn’t touch her if she told him not to.
Ryo realized that she didn’t want to undress right there and it was very uncomfortable for her. He’s had to undress many times and it wasn’t hard for him. He quickly reached back for a blanket. “Here,” He said. “I’ll hold this up and you can undress and wrap up in the blanket.”
He held it up and waited to hear her undressing. Robyn looked around and blushed. She was so uncomfortable. When she was done, she grabbed the blanket and wrapped up in it. Ryo looked away to help her be relaxed, even though he was nervous as hell inside. When she was done, he wrapped himself in another blanket and sat there.
It was quiet again. And Robyn could still be heard shivering. He was worried for her since he was always warm, he really wasn’t that cold. And there wasn’t anything else in the truck except themselves and those little snacks. Ryo’s stomach began to have butterflies and he tried not to look at Robyn.
Robyn was still a little cold and wished that Cye would have enforced her to bring extra clothes. She was so tired and the only thing nice looking was Ryo’s chest. She had to keep her mind on survival though and not how sexy Ryo looked.
“Robyn,” Ryo said quietly. “Why don’t…uh, come over here, we can share body heat…”
Robyn gave him a blank look but thought about it for a minute.
Robyn nodded and crawled slowly over there. She tried to look embarrassed and nervous but she was sorta happy and glad that he welcomed her into his arms.
“I’m sorry if it’s uncomfortable.” Ryo shifted. He couldn’t find a comfortable position himself.
“Your okay,” Robyn took a deep breath. Ryo could feel her breath on his chest and even that was cold!
Ryo pulled her closer and closed his eyes as she curled up closer to him.
“You’re always warm,” Robyn said softly. She was feeling the warmth and was feeling better.
Ryo chuckled and whispered in her ear, “Thanks.”
They listened to the wind outside and the rain and hail hit the windshield. Robyn fell asleep up against his chest. Ryo slowly turned off the car and let his armor and body heat warm them up. The rain didn’t slow down instantly but it did slow down as he dozed off.
#*#*#*#*#*#*#
“The rain is going away,” Cye said quietly. Scott had fallen asleep in a chair and Lynn was in bed already. It was almost ten thirty. Sage had dozed off on the couch and Kento was on the brink of dream land. Cye, and Scott were still awake and ready at any second to leave.
“Let’s leave in the morning,” Rowen yawned.
“What,” Cye asked. “They could be stuck in good by then!”
“They’re stuck in good now if they’re still there,” Scott sighed. “If we wait till morning we might have a good chance of staying awake to get to where they are.”
Cye didn’t like it but he went and got ready for bed anyway. Rowen stayed up to watch the rain and fell asleep at the window seal. Scott went downstairs.
The morning was slow. Cye got up with Sage and fixed a quick breakfast. Then Scott and Kento got up and got dressed and ready. Rowen woke when Lynn declared that it was time to got get Ryo and Robyn.
Cye and Kento jumped in the truck and Scott grabbed rope and warm clothes, a change for everyone including Ryo and Robyn.
As soon as the vehicle was loaded, they left.
#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#
Ryo opened his eyes slowly. The windows were slightly fogged and the rain had stopped. Robyn was still snoozing away curled up next to him. He smiled and ran his fingers though her still slightly wet hair. He was so relaxed there; he did not want to get up and try to get out now.
He closed his eyes again and listened to the birds outside and the stream that ran behind his tires. He heard something unusual though. Unusual it was but it was a welcoming sound.
He lifted his head over the dashboard and didn’t see anything. Then he realized what predicament he was in. He had a partial naked young lady with him, he was in his boxers, and he was stuck in the middle of the road. It could be anyone.
When he heard the brakes of the vehicle, he looked again and saw Cye and Scott jump out of the car. Part of him was relived, the other was wondering what they would think. Not like he cared, she was alive and he could feel breathing. He sat up slowly and rolled down the window to feel the cold weather.
“Hey Ryo! We were hoping you were still in there,” Kento laughed.
Cye walked up to the window and looked in. He saw Robyn’s form in a blanket and her clothes on the floor. Ryo was in his boxers still and his midsection was still under a blanket.
“Is she okay,” Cye asked.
“Yeah, Robyn will be okay. I didn’t want you to see her this way but we were really cold.” Ryo chuckled and smiled at her.
“Your okay, we have clothes, I’ll carry her over to our truck and she can change over there.” Cye opened the door.
Ryo pulled Robyn over to him and lifted her into Cye’s arms. Robyn woke up and saw Cye first. She just closed her eyes again. Then she realized that Cye was holding her and not Ryo. She jumped and freaked right in his arms. Kento started laughing and Cye told her to calm down and he explained everything he could to her. She felt embarrassed and worried that Ryo was in trouble.
Kento gave Ryo his clothes. Ryo changed quickly. Robyn waited till Cye held the blanket up and then changed into sweat pants and one of Cye’s t-shirts. She stayed in the car while they guys pulled the truck out. If she would have came out and helped, she would only be in the way and get muddy again.
Kento first tried to push it out but he didn’t strain. Then Cye took out some rope and they had toed it out. The rope broke four times but this didn’t stop them. They put a bigger rope on the fifth try and pulled it out. Ryo and Kento dug the tires out and made it a little bit easier.
Ryo rode in the truck with Kento. Scott took Cye and Robyn. Robyn was quiet during the ride home and only Scott hummed to the radio. In Ryo’s truck, Kento told Ryo how much they worried about him. Ryo only laughed.
Rowen met Ryo’s car while Sage stood at the door drinking some hot coco. Robyn went inside and jumped in the shower first and then Ryo jumped in. It was almost one fifteen so Cye got on a small lunch. At lunch Ryo waked outside with Robyn and asked her how she felt and she was okay.
“Sure I’m going to be okay Ryo, getting stuck is an everyday thing,” Robyn chuckled as she walked down the pathway with him.
“No,” Ryo said softly as he grabbed her arm softly. “Alright about the undressing part. Is our relationship growing or dieing because of that?”
Robyn looked into Ryo’s eyes and smiled, “I think it’s growing everyday even if we don’t get stuck.”
“Well,” Ryo grinned as he started walking again. “The look on your face made me seem like I was Rowen or something. You just gave me this look like you were ready to walk.”
Robyn laughed and leaned on his shoulder. Her arms wrapped around his arm. “Ryo, I feel so safe when I am with you and I know that nothing was going to happen to me or you without a good fight. I know you are going to win that fight too.”
“What about Kento, what if Kento was there?” Ryo looked up in the sky. “Or Cye or Sage?”
“Or Rowen? I feel safe with all of you! You are the warm one though and I am glad that I got to get stuck with you. I would have acted the same with any of you.” Robyn was still cringed to the bearer of Wildfire’s arm.
“Would you have felt better if Cye was there,” Ryo stopped and kicked a stone.
“I dunno,” Robyn shrugged and let go of his arm.
Ryo nodded and kept walking next to Robyn. He hoped that what happened that night would be special for her and him.
“That’s Cye’s cooking,” Robyn sniffed. “Last one there is a rotten egg!”
Ryo chuckled and ran after the happy red haired girl.
Robyn ate dinner quickly. She and Lynn retreated to her room to talk girl talk. The guys stayed downstairs and bickered or whatever they wanted to do. They played cards for a while and Rowen and Cye got into a deep game of WAR.
“Man, you are so lucky to get half naked with Ryo,” Lynn giggled.
“Nothing I haven’t seen before,” Robyn smiled. “But he did looked sexier wet.”
Lynn laughed and nodded. “I have only seen Cole in his boxers or swimming trunks. Not even then it is real exciting.”
“I want to see Scott in his boxers,” Robyn dreamed.
“How’s Kento look,” Lynn wondered, trying to change the subject off her brother.
“Now that is some muscle,” Robyn laughed.
Lynn giggled and lay on her back.
“Oh man, imagine Scott, in his boxers,” Robyn went back to Scott. “You are really lucky have a sexy brother like him!”
“Nothing I haven’t seen before,” Lynn shrugged. “I’m really not into my brother. He’s cool and all but he can be a real jerk when you mess him up.”
Robyn shook her head.
“Well, if you want him, you can have him,” Lynn got out a box of pictures.
“Oh no, the horrible pictures!” Robyn began to laugh and remember all that had happened to them.
“This is when you snuck in to that …that…”
“That pond,” Robyn smiled. “Was there any fish in there?”
“No,” Lynn shook her head and laughed. “But there are toxics in there. I swear there was a three eyed frog.”
“And remember our first dance?” Robyn found a pretty picture filled color.
“How could I forget? That crazed little kid came in with his underwear on and a cape and danced.” Lynn broke into laughter.
“And Shib pulled Bill’s pants down. Oh and Shib also put punch in Mr. Wilbow’s shirt and pants,” Robyn grinned. “That was the last time I saw that troublesome boy.”
“You know what Robyn? We matured nicely. We turned out pretty good.” Lynn looked though to find a real memory. “Jason disappeared…Somehow I’m happy though. He really scared me.”
“I know…He got in an accident in Japan…He died…” Robyn wanted to grin and dance with Lynn but both of them looked at the pictures in more silence.
“That’s sort of good. At least many people are safe…OH! Here’s one,” Lynn pulled up a dark colored picture.
“Yeah, that’s when we snuck out. I can’t believe you had the camera this much!” Robyn yawned.
“Yeah,” Lynn yawned next. “We better get to bed. Tell me what you want copies of and I’ll get you a copy.”
Robyn got up, “alright, good night.”
“Night,” Lynn crawled in and turned off the light. She noticed it felt different without Cole. Oh well, at least she could sleep without his snoring.
Robyn drifted off quickly and listened to the guys downstairs. It felt so good to be home and in a warm bed.
Robyn woke up and ignored most of the morning. It was warmer now. She wasn’t ready to get up from the way she was. She still needed some sleep! She did go back to sleep after Cye checked for a fever and gave her some Tylenol which she refused. They did their usual thing. Lynn declared it pick-on-Kento hour and Rowen helped out for a short time.
“Kento, can you hand me that screwdriver,” Robyn asked as she helped Scott fix the VCR. Scott put a video in and it ate the tape.
“Which,” Kento asked.
“Flat,” Scott grumbled.
“Like Kento would know what a flat screwdriver is,” Rowen laughed. “Kento makes grass look smart!”
“Hey! Shut up Rowen! Your point is?” Kento grinned and Rowen only snickered.
