Chapter 2

Cole stretched and leaned over to Cye. “I hate mornings,” he yawned. I was way too tired for this and looked lazy with only sweat pants and a t-shirt with an advertisement on it on.

“Why, I think it’s the best time out of the day,” Cye said brightly as he put some scrabbled eggs on a dish.

Cole picked up the dish and put some bacon on it. “Because I’m tired, and not awake…and…” Cole put some ketchup on his eggs. “Yeah, that’s it,” He then yawned again.

Kento slumped into the kitchen as Cye started on his breakfast. As Cye gave Kento his breakfast, Sage walked in.

 “My head hurts,” Sage groaned.

“What happened,” Kento asked with his mouth full.

“Rowen rolled me off the bed and I hit the floor at exactly three am. I am going to drown that boy,” Sage grabbed himself a plate.

“I’ll do it,” Ryo laughed as he walked in.

Sage looked at Ryo and nodded. “Just give him a nice cold shower or even a cup of cold water.”

“You can use the hose,” Cole chuckled. “I’ll help you drag him out.”

Sage laughed. “I’ll wait till the time is right. I can do it,” Sage sat by Kento with a yawn.

The room was quiet for a couple of minutes before Robyn and Lynn came down. “It was so funny,” Lynn laughed. “Poor Scott was after me for days!”

“So would I,” Robyn laughed, “Hello everyone!”

“Good morning,” Sage and Cye nodded.

“Hey” Kento and Cole smiled.

Ryo just grinned.

“Don’t use the ketchup,” Robyn whispered to Lynn. “He’s got it booby trapped.”

“I’m not that mean!” Ryo tightened the ketchup lid quickly.

Everyone shook their head and chuckled while the girls dished themselves a plate. “Man you guys are loud,” Scott scratched his head as he walked in. “I heard you guys in my sleep!”

Lynn looked at her big brother with a grin, “You sleep of me? How nice.”

“Shut-up,” Scott growled as he scratched his chest.

“Well I know who’s in a good mood,” Robyn laughed. “Scottie the hottie is.” Robyn immediately covered her mouth.

Cye raised an eye brow and everyone chuckled. Lynn laughed and Sage shook his head. “You mean that,” Scott asked grinning.

Robyn didn’t move as she just stared blankly at Scott’s face. Her eyes were wide as well as she held her mouth tight so nothing else could come out. Kento and Lynn were laughing while Ryo made sure Cye was still alive from the event. Sage continued to eat his breakfast as if nothing had happened.

“No, I’m serious. Did you really mean that,” Scott asked as he took a step forward to Robyn.

Robyn didn’t move a muscle.

Scott grinned and looked at Cye. “Did she really mean that?”

Cye shrugged.

“Of all the girl friends I had, I would think they would come up with such a cool name as that! I just can’t believe a couple days of seeing me and you already think of me as a hottie!” Scott laughed as Cole put his dish in the sink and ran to get the shower. Sage, now a little interested, stops and watches humorlessly.

Finally, after a sort pause, Scott took another step forward and touched Robyn. Cye’s eyes were rested but widened once again with surprise as smile creased onto Robyn’s face and Scott’s worried face turned happy. Sage chuckled as he got up and left to get Rowen up. Lynn went upstairs when Cole was yelling he didn’t have a towel. Ryo and Cye just sat there to see what else was going on.

“Do you mean what you said,” Scott asked very slowly.

She had to think of something and fast! “Of course I meant it!” Robyn smiled and hurried upstairs to help Sage get Rowen out of bed.

“I don’t think I’m going to ever get her to talk to me again,” Scott laughed and moved outside.

“Ryo,” Cye shook his head. “Robyn is not coming back alone,” Cye got up and left.

Ryo stood and grinned with humor.

Upstairs, Robyn looked at Sage’s facial expressions change as Rowen snored. Robyn then raised an eyebrow as an idea came to her. She jumped up onto the bed and started to roll Rowen off. Sage stepped back and watched Rowen fall to the floor. Sad thing was, he didn’t wake up.

“This is going to be harder then I thought,” Robyn mumbled.

“I still think we should go with the water affect…” Sage left to go get a cup.

“That’s the only way to wake him up! With water!” Robyn trudged behind Sage.

They both entered the bathroom, after Cole left to get dressed, and looked around for some paper cups. Sage took the closet while Robyn looked underneath the sink.

“I found a bucket…” Robyn pulled the bucket out to show Sage. “It’s a lot bigger then a small paper cup.”

Sage nodded and started to fill it up. They only had to fill it half full. Robyn then peeked in the doorway before entering and still saw Rowen remained outspread on the floor. She waved to Sage who walked over to Rowen and slowly tipped the water out. Once Rowen opened his eyes did Sage pour the rest on quickly.

“What the hell!” Rowen sat up and looked at Sage and then Robyn.

Robyn smiled brightly.

“Thanks,” Rowen remarked rudely. “I really needed to wake up.”

Sage walked out and went back downstairs to find something to do. Robyn followed after smiling at Rowen’s wet hair and tossing him a towel for the mess. Rowen just sat there letting the water drip out of his hair.

Robyn grinned and ran downstairs. “Do you need any help,” she asked Cye as she passed the kitchen.

“Not anymore,” Cye said as he walked out and sat on the couch tiredly.

Robyn shrugged and looked around. She then heard laughter downstairs and went to investigate. Cole was sitting on a barstool while Lynn hit a striped ball near a hole but missed. Ryo was laughing. It was a fairly large room with a TV, radio, pool table, and an air hockey table. In the far corner was a computer. Cole was sitting at a bar looking counter; behind the counter was a fridge with snacks and drinks in it.

Robyn sat next to him and watched Ryo hit the next ball which was a solid. He also missed and Lynn laughed at him. Robyn then looked at the new body entering the room. It was Scott. She blushed a bit and looked away.

“Sage and I are going to go get some snacks. We’re out. Be back later.” Scott turned and then saw Robyn out of the corner of his eye and remembered the morning. “You want to come, Robyn?”

Robyn smiled as she turned very slowly and looked at him. “No thanks,” She said smiling. She was still embarrassed.

Scott shrugged and left.

“I still can’t believe you said that this morning,” Lynn laughed.

“Thank god Rowen wasn’t there. He would have made something of it,” Robyn chuckled.

“I would have made something out of what,” Rowen asked as he came down.

“Nothing,” Cole shook his head.

Rowen shrugged it off and sat on the last stool. Cole got up to hit his ball. Cye then came down smiled as Kento cursed because he could not figure out the radio. It was old looking but was updated. He laughed and leaned in the doorway.

Rowen then stood up as his eye’s spotted the air hockey table. “Hey Roby, will you play me at air hockey?”

Robyn looked up, “I guess. Lynn go for me or whatever.”

“The game will be over in …” Lynn paused as Kento hit another ball which made the hole. “NO!”

Kento grinned and went to the next ball.

Rowen tossed a paddle to Robyn and took a side. “Have you played a lot,” he asked.

Robyn shrugged. “I played a bit when I was with Lynn but we never won against anyone else. Jason sort of played too.”

Rowen nodded and tossed the puck to Robyn. “You can go first.”

Robyn hit the puck half hearted. Rowen blocked it easily though and Robyn hit it again, this time with a bit more force. Again Rowen blocked it.

“It’s no fair! You take martial arts! You have better reflexives!” Robyn hit the puck again.

“So, we’ve taught you a bit…” Rowen hit the puck and it flew past Robyn and into the goal. He just grinned.

“It’s just not fair,” Robyn pouted as she took the puck out and hit it with all she got.

Rowen grinned bigger as both of then tried to keep the puck from their goal. The game ended at seven and both of them were at six. Cye and Kento now were watching and were betting. Cye bet Robyn was going to win. Lynn just raised an eyebrow the best she could and watched with much intent. Cole got into the fridge and handed everyone a coke. As Cole opened his coke the unthinkable happened.

Robyn and Rowen lunged at the puck and hit it at the same time. Somehow, when Scott and Sage walked in, the puck flew across the room and hit Sage in the chest. Sage stood there with a puck in one hand and a bag in another.

“Hey….” Robyn gulped.

“Rowen, who’s winning,” Sage asked calming.

“Tied,” Rowen whispered.

Sage nodded, “Well hurry up because I would like get you back, Rowen.”

“Oh what are you going to do, Sage,” Kento laughed.

“I’ll just beat him at his own game,” Sage grinned.

A couple minutes later Rowen finished Robyn at the game and Sage played him. It was very uneven because Sage kicked Rowen’s butt and Rowen never had a chance. After that, they were bored.

“Let’s go swimming,” Scott offered.

“Um…” Robyn held a finger up.

“Where,” Lynn asked quickly. “Everywhere is pretty booked and packed.”

“Um….” Robyn said again but was once again ignored.

“We can hit Lava. You can swim there and tube down the river.” Cole stood up and stretched.

“Sure,” Ryo and the others nodded.

“I don’t have a problem there. I say tubing though,” Scott grinned.

“How deep is the water in the river,” Robyn asked quietly. Cye looked over at her this time as well as Lynn.

“Not very deep. If you so fall in you’ll be fine. We’ll stay together and if one of us falls in then we can help each other out.” Lynn smiled.

Robyn nodded and smiled at Cye who suddenly seemed worried.

Tubing is when you sit in a large tube and ride down the river. Lynn and Scott would do it all the time when they were younger and with their parents. Scott was a “Sea Dog” under their father’s terms. Scott loved the water and when they went tubing, he would flip just to get in the water. Lynn didn’t know the reaction she would get from the new boys. Cole just went to get out. She knew that Robyn was afraid of the water but didn’t think it was so bad that she wouldn’t tube. Lynn did want to do something out of the house anyway.

It took a while to get there but when they did get there they all decided they wanted to tube. Robyn got a life vest but no one said anything. They headed up to the top of the water fall. Actually Robyn, Lynn, and Rowen went down past the waterfall and waited for their friends.

“OH! That’s cold,” Rowen shivered.

“You’ll adapt,” Lynn laughed and hopped on. “HOLY COW! It is!” Lynn tried to swim back to shore.

Rowen and Robyn laughed and tossed her tube to her and waved bye.

“You have to get in sometime!” Lynn cursed and rode down to where she could stop and wait for everyone.

Robyn looked at Cye who had just gone over the falls. He was wearing some light blue swim shorts and no tops as well a pretty much everyone. She hurried in to try to get use to the coldness as quickly as possible. Rowen waited till Sage went over, who was the second to last, to get in.

As they floated down to their meeting spot, Robyn happened to be across the river and no one could grab her. They decided they would all meet at the end. Lynn and Robyn held on for their lives as they passed by Scott and Cye who were on a tipping spree. Their holds were in vain though as Scott launched himself from his tube to Robyn’s. And at the angle he hit it, it tipped and Robyn flew over to Cye. Cye caught her and fell into the river after her.

Lynn paid no attention to Robyn and Cye and concentrated more on keeping her older brother away from her tube. Her efforts were also in vain though because Scott came from under her.

“Hey,” a voice came over Scott who was laughing too hard to stay above.

Scott turned, “Huh?”

Kento flew and tackled Scott into the water.

Scott tried to dodge but was too slow. The two began a wrestle in the water. Lynn then took the opportunity to get her tube back and head back down the river.

Cye got Robyn onto his tube and was retrieving hers and Lynn’s when he noticed the two. “Come on you guys before someone gets hurt!”

They two just looked up at Cye, looked at their tubes, and swam to get to them. When Kento go his, Scott was paddling with his hands down to Cye and Robyn. Kento hurried to keep up with them.

“Kento,” Scott whispered. “Dare ya to tip Cye,” Scott chuckled.

“Hell no! He’d drown me!” Kento laughed, “Though I would want to see you go off that waterfall with out a tube…”

Scott just grinned and walked out to the dock with his tube in hand. He looked around and saw two other girls watching the people go off the falls. He grinned and nodded toward them before jumping in the water with out his tube.

Kento almost died. Everyone was laughing as Scott screamed and fell over the edge. Kento could see Lynn’s face. She looked worried yet ready to drown the older boy for being an idiot. Kento laughed and jumped in his tube.

“Holy crap,” Scott gasped as his head popped up. To his side he saw his swim shorts float bye. “That’s what's of…” Scott chuckled. He only laughed to himself and hurried after them before they drifted toward shore or into the shallow area.

“Oops,” Robyn laughed. More laughed with them and watched the next idiot who wanted to compare to Scott.

Few minutes past and Sage left to get another tube. His got a hole after he followed Scott and Cye over another big waterfall. Another fight broke out between Lynn and Scott before they could reach the end. And Scott splashed her after every time she went by him.

When they met everyone at the end, Cole was arguing with a boy. He was about his size, maybe a little bulkier. He had dark hair and eyes and looked like a very determined kid. When Robyn saw them, she didn’t know what to think. Unlike Lynn, she jumped up and grabbed Scott. Rowen, Kento, and Robyn got up a little slower.

“Cole,” Lynn exclaimed.

“Ah, the young lady! I haven’t seen you in a while!” The boy said dryly.

“Roy, what a surprise to see you here,” Scott stepped in front of his younger sister. The others just watched in silence.

“I haven’t seen you guys in forever.” The man now established as Roy said.

“I was hoping it would stay that way,” Cole said quietly. “Everyone ready to go? This old friend is getting on my nerves…”

“What was that smart man?” Roy grabbed the front of Cole’s shirt.

Scott, who doesn’t really like this guy, gives the man a punch.

Roy then saw the Ronins. Something clicked inside his head and he looked them over quickly. He knew who they were somehow. Once he got Cole out of his way, he could get rid of them.

Before a fight between Scott and the boy, Roy, could start, a police man came up to them. “Anything wrong here,” she asked.

“No, nothing here. Just some friendly threats,” Cole smiled.

“I’ll look for you later,” Roy threatened.

“Sorry,” Scott said to the Ronins. “Some rivalry, nothing to be worried about.”

They all nodded.

“I was hoping we wouldn’t meet,” Cole lowered his head. “We have some family rivalry going on and he hates me. Hopefully you guys won’t get involved.”

“Let’s go one more time,” Ryo laughed. “I think we’re all getting tired.”

“Alright,” Cole shrugged. “You’re the guest!”

“Where’s the end,” Rowen yelled over to Cole.

“Almost there,” he replied.

“There are the girls,” Ryo said as he hopped off his tube and ran onto the bank. He was drenched more then any of them.

“What happened,” Robyn asked.

“I couldn’t catch my balance after going off a waterfall and fell off so many times I ended up loosing my tube. Then I found Sage. He had my tube and then we hooked up with Rowen.”

“Yeah well this other little kid was stuck on the bank so we had to stop and help him.” Rowen dragged his tube up the bank.

“We didn’t have to but we were stranded next to him,” Cole laughed. “Ready to go again?”

“Um,” Sage striated his hair. “Let me go to the restroom first.”

“Alright, we’ll wait here,” Robyn waved. He looked so funny with his hair not fluffy anymore!

When everyone was wet and ready to go home, they were all wet and full of cuts and bruises from the rocky bottom. Cole and Lynn offered to take them to the hot springs but the only person who wasn’t tired was Scott.

When they got home, Cye started on dinner. Cole told him several times to let him take care of it but Cye insisted and kicked Cole out of his own kitchen.

“You need to rest yourself,” Lynn said sitting next to Cole on the couch. “You went off that fall with out your tube twice.”

“I’ll be okay.”

“Just lie down and watch some TV and I’ll get you some Aspirin,” Lynn got up to move to the kitchen.

“No, I’ll go down to the basement with the others,” Cole got up.

“Do and I’ll see to it that you don’t get any sleep tonight,” Lynn threatened.

Cole sat back down and turned on the TV.

Downstairs, everyone sat around lazily and waited for dinner. Ryo was hitting random balls on the pool table with Robyn. Rowen and Sage were engaged in a chess match. Scott and Kento were at first having a staring contest but Scott said it was unfair somehow and quit so they ended up playing a boring card game.

“Hey Rowen,” Scott waved the older man down close so he could tell him something.

Rowen looked at Sage, the chess board, and then back at Scott. “Don’t move till I’m back,” he said smiling. Sage grinned but it disappeared before Rowen could tell what he was thinking.

“Rowen,” Scott whispered in Rowen’s ear. “I was wondering if you know how to hit on Robyn?”

“Yeah,” Rowen replied quietly. In no time Scott was nodding and telling Rowen his way, and what he thinks Rowen did wrong.

“I dare you to try it. I don’t think it that easy to get Robyn. Maybe others but she’s pretty tricky with Cye around.” Rowen chuckled and watched Scott stood up.

“Watch and learn,” Scott walked up to Robyn and leaned on the pool table. “Hey, you ever seen the country out here?”

Robyn gave Scott a dubious look.

“Wanna go see it now?” Scott smiled and leaned over not getting too much in her face to make her uncomfortable but to let her know he was serious.

“I’ve seen it before Scott.”

“Have you ever seen it with me? I don’t remember. Come on,” Scott stood up strait and offered his hand.

Robyn shook her head no and turned back to hitting a striped ball. By this time everyone wanted to know what was going to happen.

“You sure? After this morning I figured you wanted to be with me. I don’t bite.” Scott raised an eyebrow. He was so cute that way.

Before Robyn could answer, Cye came down and told everyone it was dinner time. Robyn smiled and hurried up the stairs. Cye remained there shortly to look at Scott.

“Bust,” Rowen laughed as he and Scott made it up the stairs.
