Chapter 2

“Cye, get up you’ll be late!” Robyn called up to her lazy friend, “CYE! HURRY UP!”
“Robyn, why are you yelling,” Mrs. Mouri asked the red head.
“Well, Cye is not up yet,” she replied hatefully.
“Didn’t you see the note, Megan took Cye to school, she got something by air mail last night, who knows what it is,” Mrs. Mouri informed the annoyed teen.
Robyn was about to reply when a sudden vroom caught her ear.
“That’s Kento, well see you!” Robyn called as she ran out the door to ride with her burly friend.
“Where’s Cye?” Kento inquired of his female friend.
“He got a ride with someone else,” Robyn explained quickly.
“Oh,” Kento replied as he hit the pedal.

***

Soon the jeep was in the school parking lot, badly parked next to a corvette. Robyn stepped out and smoothed her hair, then, pulling her backpack onto her shoulders, headed toward the school itself.
Suddenly she noticed a familiar form standing beside a motorcycle. The redhead didn’t recognize the bike as she stamped over to her British friend.
“CYE!” the emerald-eyed teen snapped.
The bearer of Torrent quickly spun around, a look of dread on his face, “Oh Robyn, I didn’t see you.”
Before Robyn could rejoinder a slim form slipped past her, gently pushing Cye aside. It was then that Robyn truly noticed the Harley Davidson parked a few feet away from her British companion. The person on the seat wore a large black leather jacket and a pair of black jeans with silver tipped black boots and biker gloves, the gloves with the fingers cut off. But Robyn couldn’t see the face of the driver, since the helmet had black glass. The helmet was all black, but it had a dragon painted, the dragon was black so it was outlined in silver. The winged lizard’s mouth faced the same way as the wearer’s face and the tips of it’s wings stretched to the back of the protective helmet. Miniko had slipped past Robyn and gone straight to the rider of the motorcycle.
“Hi, is this your bike?” the black haired girl asked calmly.
The driver nodded.
“Wow, that is so cool. Do you go to this school?” Min asked hopefully.
The driver shook their head in a negative response.
“That’s too bad. What grade are you in?” the girl questioned again.
This time the driver flashed all ten fingers then 2 more.
“Why, aren’t you the strong silent type,” Min flirted.
Ryo and the other guys had joined the two spectators; they listened as Min continued to flirt with the biker. Finally she stopped and twined her arm round the rider’s. The group listened intently as Min went on.
“How bout you give me a ride home tonight, well?” the ebony haired girl suggested.
Slowly the biker reached up and took off their helmet; a small waterfall of chestnut brown hair fell from the helmet. Two smoky blue eyes gleamed mischievously at the stunned Miniko.
“That would be nice,” Megan replied, quickly leaning over and kissing Min’s cheek. She hastily pulled back, just inches from getting slapped. The black haired girl glared at her tormenter, the young, naïve, Nightling smiled a lopsided grin, then winked. Min let out an angry chorus of growls before stalking off. From somewhere to her left the trickster heard chuckling, and outrageous laughter. She got off her bike and walked over to her friends, everyone was laughing their insane heads off.
“Oh, so you like that?” the brunette probed.
Only Ryo was able to answer, slowly collecting his thought, “I…can’t believe…you did that!”
The girl shrugged, still holding her helmet, “Everyone has his or her dark side, tricking poor innocent girls is mine.”
One by one each ronin calmed down. They said good bye to their new, yet misguided, friend and left for class.

***

Sage sighed; he was having trouble with his assignment. It had been like this all week; the blonde could not focus. Whenever he had tried to work his mind wondered, and when he doodled, the drawings always seem to transform into the lady from his dreams. Halo’s keeper thought back to his most recent dream it had happened on Sunday, he hadn’t seen the shining figure since. Perhaps I’m just imagining the whole thing, Sage thought hopelessly. He began to read over the directions for the assignment again, for the 15th time.
Lets see, ‘write a short story, ten pages long, it should have an interesting plot and descriptive characters,’ Sage read silently, a small idea slid into his mind, but suddenly an image of the mysterious woman danced infront of his eyes. The idea disappeared with the soft voice of his dreams. The warrior of light suspired, he was glad that class would be over soon.
“Bbbbbbrrrrriiiiinnnnnnnggggg!” the bell howled.

***

“I’m glad it’s Friday, now we can have fun!” Robyn chimed happily.
“Yeah, so what are we doing this weekend?” Cye asked the group as they stood, waiting for Rowen.
A moment of silence passed between them before Kento spoke up, “Lets go to the club.”
“Yeah, that would be great,” Ryo agreed.
“Guys, we better go tonight because tomorrow I’m spending the night with Kami, I’m going to ask Meg to come too,” Robyn explained quickly.
“Ok, then its agreed?” the husky teen inquired of his friends. They all nodded, suddenly a loud VROOM sounded from the entrance of the parking lot. A black Harley Davidson with blue, white and silver flames painted on it roared up towards the group. The rider had her usual helmet on, with her baggy leather jacket, silver tipped boots and black pants. She parked the motorcycle right next to the group, and quickly pulled of her helmet.
“Hey guys,” Megan chirped enthusiastically.
“Hey, Meg we’re going to a club tonight so wear something cool,” Kento informed the biker babe.
“Oh, so you’re saying I have no sense of fashion?” the girl turned his words skillfully.
“What, hey I would never say that,” the smoky blue haired youth tried to make his point clear.
The blue-eyed girl laughed, “I know what you mean Kento, I just like to tease you a bit, sorry.”
The muscular teen glared at her, “You’re mean Megan.”
“Why, thank you, its an honor,” she shot back.
Kento shook his head and gave her a weary smile.
“Anyway, we better go if I want to change, come on Cye,” the girl motioned for her comrade to put on the turquoise helmet that hung on the back of her bike. He nodded and got on, buckled the helmet on.
“See you guys later,” Megan said as she put her helmet on.
The girl reved the motor so it seemed to roar with rage, the bike finally lurched forward and slowly picked up speed until it was out of sight.
“I will never get used to that,” Ryo thought aloud.
“I never knew I’d know a biker babe,” Kento sighed, a gleeful smile spread across his face.
“Yeah, just wait till you see her in her full length biker get-up,” Robyn remarked.
The guys gave her a strange look before leaving, agreeing to meet at Cye’s house tonight.

***

“Ding dong,” the doorbell rang as Kento walked in, followed by Ryo, Rowen, and Sage.
“Oh, hey guys,” Robyn greeted.
“Hey, so they ready to go yet?” Kento asked his red head friend.
“Well…” the girl trailed off, suddenly they heard a collection of curses as a form ran down the stairs, quickly finding cover behind Robyn.
“What the-” Robyn remarked, but suddenly interrupted by a quick body flying past her. Cye had make-up on, ruby red lips, pink cheeks, pale face and neon blue eye liner. The crowd brst out into hysterical laughter.
Robyn could barely contain herself, “What happened?”
Cye glared at the brunette cowering behind his old friend, “She put make-up on me!”
Robyn could no longer control herself; she laughed even harder than Kento. Cye just glared at them all.
“Hey you said I could put a little on,” The Nightling recalled.
“Don’t try to change the subject! I look worse than…than…MARLYN MANSON!” the Australian yelled.
“Well, actually, he’s way more silvery and dark red lips and black eye liner,” the girl replied. Before Cye could yell again, the Floridian turned him around, leading him back upstairs.
“Besides, did I say I was a professional make-up person?” the America explained.
A few minutes later both brunettes retured to join their friends, Cye’s face was back to normal.
“O.K., now can we go?” Kento whined.
“One last thing,” Megan commented, she turned her gaze to the muscular teen, “So these clothes ‘cool’ enough?”
Kento finally noticed what she wore. The girl had put on a small white top that came just above her belly button; she wore a silver chain around her neck. Black leather pants, slanted to one side, covered her legs down to her ankles, and her silver tipped boots decorated her feet.
“Wow, you look…” Kento was about to finish the statement when the brunette passed by him.
“Sorry no time, later ok?” the girl said hastily opening the door.
The grayish blue haired teen nodded and followed her. He had chosen to wear jeans and an orange T-shirt. Cye followed his friend, wearing his ‘too tight’ jeans and a baby blue buttoned-down shirt. Rowen had adorned himself with dark jeans and a silk, twilight blue, buttoned down shirt. Sage wore jeans, a white T-shirt and a deep green buttoned down shirt that was unbuttoned. Ryo chose to wear a scarlet shirt and jeans. Robyn had put on the purple top with the yellow star and matching jeans. They talked about school and other trivial things as they made their way to the ‘club.’

***

Soon the gang were there, seated at one of the tables. It was a dancing kind of club, but there were tables for fatigued dancers. As soon as their meeting place, their table, was established, everyone except Sage and Megan made their way to the dance floor.
The brunette glanced at her quiet associate, “You don’t like to dance?”
Sage looked at the girl, for some reason he had no interest in knowing her, something about her made him turn his nose up at her. He noticed she was waiting for an answer, “I do.”
“Then why aren’t you dancing?” she queried, almost immediately after his response.
The blonde didn’t care to reply, so instead he stared out at the dance floor. The colored lights pranced around the room almost perfectly in rhythm with the song. Megan sighed, disappointed by his silence. She sighed and got up, walking over to the bar she ordered a diet coke, after receiving it she returned to the table. Sage sat there, seeming disinterested. The girl sat down in her chair, “So, if you like to dance, why aren’t you dancing?”
Sage looked at her, a bit confused, after a moment he figured it out but stayed silent.
“Man, are you just quiet or very, very rude?” the blue-eyed teen sighed.
The blonde shot her a glance, she looked sad and angry, Sage gazed around at the various faces. He noticed a group of guys near the back staring at their table. The keeper of the armor of Halo glanced back at his companion, she was staring out at the dance floor, watching people laugh and make fools of themselves. In the colored lights her eyes seemed to glow with a distant longing. Sage quickly banished the thought and looked out at the dance floor.
“The guys in the corner are staring at you,” the blonde informed the brunette.
“Oh, so you can speak with out being spoken to,” the girl smiled, “and lets see.”
With out thought the girl stood up and walked over to the guys in the corner, an ebony haired teen, the leader stepped up to greet her. Sage watched the behavior of the guys; they acted a bit shy in stance. After a moment of talking, Megan turned her back, and slowly walked back over to the table. She spun a chair around to stare at Sage, resting her arms on the back.
“Well?” the brunette questioned.
Sage gave her an inquisitive look.
The girl glanced from the blonde to the guys in the corner then back at him.
Sage nodded, then turned his gaze back to the dance floor. The girl smiled, seeing some type of emotion in his eyes, “So, why aren’t you dancing?”
“I’m waiting for the right song,” the violet-eyed youth replied.
“Oh.”
Suddenly a mild speed song caught the pair’s attention, its pitch was soft and intensity was bearable. Sage’s female companion stood up, walked over to the blonde and held out her hand.
“Come dance with me?” she asked.
“Don’t you want to get a date with those guys, you’ll loose your chance if-,” the keeper of Halo started, but was interrupted by a slender finger pressed to his lips.
“I don’t care, they’re just a bunch of jerks anyway,” the girl explained, hand still extended, “Well?”
Sage looked from the girl infront of him, to the dance floor, after a moment he nodded and stood up. The girl smiled and led the way onto the dance floor, stopping close to the center. The song started up strong once more, the pale-eyed girl suddenly moved in an unexpected way, the movement was followed by another graceful motion that followed the rhythm and beat of the song. Sage watched for a moment then began his own wave of movements. Slowly the pairs’ actions blended, the crowd around them began to stop and notice the dancers. Sage gingerly took his partner’s hands, she smiled and grasped his hands confidently. Sage spun the girl, pulling her close and starting another wave of movements. The teens were suddenly aware of their audience, Megan flushed slightly, seeing this Sage pulled her close again, and then with one hand he spun her. Without warning the rhythm of the song became slow and relaxing. Megan stopped spinning and looked at Sage. The crowd stared, waiting for the couple to continue. Megan’s cheeks turned a slightly darker shade of pink. The blonde stepped closer to her, taking her hands again he began to pull her around in slow, elegant movements. Slowly the pink faded from the Nightling’s face, she was seized in the song. Finally the regular beat came back into play and their movements sped up. At last the song ended, both looked worn out.
“Wow, Meg, I didn’t know you could dance like that,” Rowen admitted.
The brunette smiled shyly, “Yeah well.”
Suddenly the Nightling stumbled back, being gently caught by Ryo and Sage.
“You don’t look so good,” Robyn remarked.
“I’m fine,” the American assured, “I just need to lie down.”
“Where,” the red head questioned her friend.
The brunette pointed over to the booth next to a table.
“Alright, come on,” Robyn ordered, pulling her along. The guys followed closely, ready to help if need be.
Megan sat down, “Go back and dance I’m ok.”
The color in the vivacious teen’s face had been drained from her.
“I don’t know,” the green eyed girl replied.
“Don’t worry, I’ll stay with her,” Rowen reassured.
“You will, thanks Rowen,” Robyn acknowledged.
The guys, except Rowen and Sage, walked back to the dance floor, Robyn following. Just then Megan’s head fell back, her eyes barely opened. Rowen and Sage looked at her, worry plain on their faces.
“Don’t worry, I’m not dead, just really dizzy and tired,” the girl responded.
“What happened?” Rowen interrogated his female companion.
“I’m just really dizzy. You know when you stand up too quick and you get dizzy?” the brunette explained.
“Yeah,” the blue-haired teen replied.
“Well, imagine that with aching feet, arms, legs and needing 10 aspirin,” with that said the simple-minded girl curled up in a comfortable position and began to sleep, despite the pounding music.
“How can she sleep with all this music?” Rowen pondered.
Sage looked over at his confused friend, “Maybe she is a deep sleeper.”
“Shall we test that hypothesis?” the crystal-blue eyed teen asked.
The blonde gave Rowen an imminent look, “Leave me out of it.”
The blue-haired youth smiled, he reached over and gently pinched her arm. In a flash of movement Rowen was pinned against the back of the booth.
“Don’t even think about it, I need sleep, and if you keep me awake I will be VERY grumpy in the morning, got it,” the pale-eyed teen threatened. She sighed, let go of Rowen’s throat and crawled towards Sage, lying down a few feet from him, “Now you I can trust, at least a little bit.”
Sage nodded to the brunette just before she closed her eyes to sleep.

***

“Good morning, Megan,” Cye chirped contently. “Good morning? What’s so good about it?” the girl yawned.
“Well, it is a nice day,” the English man replied, not letting his friend’s sour mood ruin his optimism. The blue-eyed girl slumped down in a chair next to the table. After a few minutes Cye placed a plate of scrambled eggs and bacon infront of her.
“I hope you like bacon and eggs,” the teen chirped. The Nightling’s eyes opened wide at the sight. She grabbed a piece of bacon and bit into it. An excited expression suddenly swept across her face; “It’s real meat!”
“Of course its real, what were you expecting?” Cye questioned his companion.
“Soy meat?” the girl returned. The bearer of Torrent shook his head and sat across from the starved youth. She was being an almost total pig, she was almost as bad as Kento. The brunette shook his head, letting the thoughts fade away.
“Hey guys,” Robyn greeted, sitting down at the table.
“Morning,” Megan addressed before taking another bite of egg.
“Good morning,” Cye welcomed. Robyn watched both of her brunette friends before getting her own plate.
“Uh…Megan, your being a pig,” the red head informed her.
The girl shot the red head a hurtful glance before continuing her meal, only this time more slowly.
“Megan, how come you said ‘soy meat’?” the British youth inquired.
“I live with a vegetarian, he only eats veggies and stuff. No meat, only soy meat instead,” the pale-eyed teen replied, eating the last of her bacon.
“Oh,” Cye responded, regretting he asked.
“Hey Meg, I’m going to a sleep over tonight, do you want to come?” Robyn asked her friend.
“Uh, can I pass on that?” the girl hesitated, trying to figure out how to decline politely.
“Come on, it’ll be fun, and I want you to meet my friend, Kami,” the green-eyed youth explained.
“I’m not much for sleepovers, I don’t like talking about girl stuff, I’d much rather talk about movies, camping, stuff like that,” Megan replied, attempting to get out of the offer.
“Megan Nightling, you just don’t want to go, do you?” the red head questioned, some how knowing the answer. The girl nodded, arms crossed over her chest.
“Your brother was right, you are a tomboy. You don’t have to go if you don’t want,” Robyn clarified.
“Thank you, Robyn,” the teen returned.
“No problem, but could you give me a ride over to the mall, I’m meeting Kami there at 3pm,” the emerald-eyed teen implored.
“Alright, alright, you got it,” the brunette girl smiled.
Cye sighed and took Megan’s plate and his to the sink, “Looks like you’re stuck with me, Megan.”
“Oh, come on Cye, you know you like having me around,” she teased, “Plus we got to see a movie today, call Kento.”
“Ok, I’ll call him right now,” Cye said, picking up the phone, “Kento, movie at 11:30, Ok? Thanks! See you there!”
“I’ll go get ready!” the brunette girl explained.

***

It was 11:30am when Cye, Megan, Robyn and Kento finally got to the movies. Robyn had decided to go to a different movie with Kento, while Cye and Megan were stuck going to see ‘Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon’. The pair didn’t mind at all, both loved to go to the theater. Cye had worn his usual jeans two sizes too small and purple polyester button down shirt; regular sneakers garnished his feet. Megan had chosen to wear a pair of white leather pants that hugged her legs down to her ankles, and her shiny pale baby blue tank top, which also embraced her form. She had white sandals and her regular hairstyle, down, to finish off the look.
“Shall we go in?” Cye asked, a playful tone to his voice.
“We shall,” the stormy eyed girl returned.
Cye led the way followed closely but Megan. As they stepped into the building a wave of cool air blew into their faces. The bearer of Torrent was used to the temperature but his female companion was not, her arms were crossed over her chest and she shivered helplessly.
“Geez, sometimes I hate living in Florida,” she growled to herself.
“Come on, its not as cold when you get farther away from the doors,” he explained. Megan nodded and started to walk faster. Cye was right, it was much warmer when they got away from the doors and to the snack line. Teenagers chatted noisily around the pair.
“Megan, Cye!” a familiar voice beckoned.
“Oh, hey Kento!” the Nightling called back.
“Hey, can we see the movie with you guys?” the burly teen asked.
“Yeah, our movie was sold out,” Robyn chirped from behind her friend.
“It’s O.K. with me,” the blue-eyed girl replied.
Cye nodded, “Sure.”
“Great! We’ll go buy the tickets for, what are we going to see?” Kento questioned.
“We’re seeing ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,’” Megan answered.
“Got it,” the muscular teen affirmed.
Kento walked casually towards the ticket booth, he took his place at the end of the line. The warrior of strength suddenly noticed who was two places away from him.
“Two for ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,’” an ebony haired girl ordered.
“Have a good day, and enjoy your movie,” the ticket person chirped.
The girl just flipped her hair, and walked towards the theater doors, followed by a dark brown haired guy. Kento looked over at his friends, looking to see if they had seen Min and Hiroshi too. From behind Cye came a small evil laugh, Megan looked at her burly friend, a hint of mischief in her eyes.
“I pity Min,” the burly youth remarked allowed.
“Can I help you?” the ticket lady asked.
“Yes, four for ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’ please,” Kento exacted.
“Thank you and enjoy the movie,” the lady chided.
The keeper of Hardrock smiled and walked back to his friends.
“We got our food, so let’s go!” Robyn exclaimed.
“This way,” the naïve Nightling started towards the theater door.

***

The pale-eyed girl spotted her target and went up three rows from them. The group sat in the middle, straight up from Min; Hiroshi had gone to get them some food. Cye sat the farthest to the right, then Megan, next Robyn and finally Kento.
“Robyn?” the girl tested hesitantly.
“Yeah?” the red head turned to look at her friend. The green-eyed teen had her feet propped up on the seat in front of her. In one had was a bag of popcorn, in the other was a few kernels of the popped corn. The pale-eyed youth looked over at Kento, then back at Robyn, both had kernels of popcorn in their hair and on their clothes.
“Uh, O.K., anyway who is this Min girl?” Megan questioned.
“Oh, she’s just a snob,” the popcorn throwing teen replied.
“And?” the girl pestered.
“She’s just a snobbish bully, who has a problem with me hanging around with Sage,” the red head explained quickly, before Kento could cream her with a handful of popcorn.
“Oh…did she ever hurt you?” the young Nightling asked passively.
Robyn stopped playing around for a minute to stare at her friend, “Well…don’t tell Cye, but, yeah, once, and only once.”
Suddenly the brunette girl’s face went dark; her eyes seem to turn a hateful storm blue.
“On 3 everyone duck,” Megan commanded with a hateful tone to her voice. She grabbed a candy bar from Kento and threw it at Min’s head.
“3!” the girl hissed.
“OW!” the ebony headed teen roared.
The group ducked behind their seats just in time.
“Who threw that?” Min snapped.
No one answered. With a huff the annoyed girl sat back down.
“Cye, give me your shirt,” the reckless girl ordered.
“But…” the Australian started, but stopped when he saw the mischievous smile on his comrade’s face. He gave her his purple button down shirt, thankfully he was wearing a white T-shirt under it. Megan quickly pulled the clothing on and buttoned it only in the middle, she rolled up her tank top underneath so her belly button shown. After a minute of crawling around Robyn and Kento, she was back in the isle way, ready to put her plan into action.
The others peeked over their chairs at their bold friend.
“Well, it was nice knowing her,” the muscular youth remarked.
“Don’t worry, Megan has been in worse,” the green-eyed girl reassured her two friends. The group watched as Megan, now looking very tomboy like, made her way towards Min. Too bad they couldn’t hear.

***

Megan sat right behind Min; she smiled, trying not to look angry or amused. The brunette went one seat to the right, so she could see some of the girl’s face. The blue-eyed youth leaned forward, resting her arms on the seat infront of her.
“Hey little muffin head,” the Nightling teased.
Min spun around to stare at who had spoken, “It’s you!”
“Yep, it’s me. Miss me?” Megan asked, amusement in her voice.
“No, now leave me alone, you…jerk,” Min shot.
“Well that’s a dang shame,” the brunette sighed, crawling over the seat infront of her, so she could sit next to Min, “And I thought you liked me.”
“No, I don’t, now go away.” The raven-haired teen growled.
“Now why would I leave when all I want to do it sit next to you? You know, we could both leave, go get a pizza, ya know?” the reckless teen acted.
“What?” Min asked, surprised.
“Don’t tell me I’m not your type?” the brunette shot at Min.
“Hey, what’s going on?” a dark brown haired guy walked up, holding 2 drinks.
“Nothin’ doll face, just asking this pretty young lady out,” Megan replied smoothly.
“That’s my girl friend ya know!” Hiroshi snapped, stamping over to this intruder.
“Oh, don’t be so jealous baby doll, you can come too, I don’t mind,” the Nightling played.
“What the… you’re a girl!” Hiroshi exclaimed.
“That’s right,” Megan said standing up, she was as tall as he was, “And you’re a guy. But sorry to say, I don’t go that way.”
With that Megan flopped back down next to Min, who looked quite sheepish just then.
“Well how bout it babe?” Megan asked, turning towards Min.
“Come on Min, let’s go,” Hiroshi interrupted grabbing Min’s hand. She was thankful for the rescue.
“I’ll call you!” the brunette called to them as they left.
All that last remark got was a dirty look.
“I can’t believe you did that!” Kento crowed.
“You liked that, didn’t you?” Megan teased joyously.
“Yeah, that was funny!” Robyn chirped.
“Let’s just watch the movie,” Cye sighed, sitting next to Megan. The girl gave her friend his shirt back and watched the movie.
“Hey Kento, you know what?” the red head whispered to her friend.
“Huh? What?” the teen replied.
“Meg and Cye look so cute together,” Robyn hissed, laughter daring to interrupt the movie.
“Hey, I heard that!” Megan growled, tossing her bag of popcorn at her friend.

***

“I wonder where Robyn is, she said 3 o’clock,” a dark haired girl sighed.
Just then a loud ‘vroom’ was heard from down the street. A flash of black, silver and blue flew through the entrance to the mall. The motorcycle slowed down and stopped infront of the dark haired girl. The driver, who wore black jeans and a baggy leather jacket, let the passenger off of the noisy machine.
The passenger took off the turquoise helmet, revealing laughing green eyes and long red hair.
“Robyn?” Kami gasped, surprised by her friend’s entrance.
“Yep, Kami this is my friend from America,” the red head motioned to the driver of the cycle.
Suddenly realizing that some one else was there, Kami blushed, fidgeting slightly, “Hello.”
The rider pulled off their dragon helmet and shook the sweat from their shoulder length brown hair. Pale-blue eyes smiled at Kami’s own brown ones.
“Hi, I’m Megan,” the brunette greeted.
“You’re a girl,” the dark haired teen blurted.
“Well, I’d like to think so,” the girl returned. Kami flushed, “Sorry.”
“It’s ok, I get it all the time. I’m an intimidating sight,” Megan enucleated.
“Yeah,” the brown-eyed youth replied.
“Kami, ready to go?” Robyn suddenly interrupted.
“Yeah, bye Megan,” Kami called back as she walked towards the mall doors.
“Bye Kami! Robyn I’m going back to the house, see you later!” Megan yelled back.
“See you later!” Robyn crowed to her friend as she rode back onto the street.

***

“Well, it’s 7pm, they should be here soon,” Cye thought aloud, getting chips and sauce.
“Who,” the blue-eyed teen queried.
The British youth suddenly noticed the girl on the couch. She was dressed in baggy metallic purple pants and a matching tank top, which hugged her form tight; they were her P.J.’s, though they didn’t look it.
“The guys are coming over tonight, they’re going to spend the night,” Cye explained.
“Oh,” the girl responded, continuing to draw in her notebook.
“Megan?” the keeper of Torrent tested.
“Yes Cye?” the Nightling answered.
“Could you go upstairs tonight? It’s kind of a guy night,” the teen begged.
“But Cye, aren’t I your friend? Am I not as good a friend as they are?” the girl’s eyes became glassy, her face twisted into a sorrowful expression.
Seeing this Cye couldn’t possibly send his friend away, “No, it’s O.K., you can stay.”
Just then the doorbell rang; the English teen went over to greet his friends.
The Nightling’s expression became calm once more, “Works like a charm,” she said with a smile.
The door opened and in strode the guys.
“Hey bud, what’s up?” Kento inquired.
“Nothing much,” was Cye’s reply, closing the door behind his friends.
The gray-blue haired teen stepped through the doorway into the living room, followed by the rest of the ‘guys’.
“So, where’s Robyn?” Rowen questioned his friend.
“She’s at Kami’s for a sleepover,” a confident voice answered from the couch.
The guys turned to stare at a focused Megan; she seemed to be shading picture.
“Oh, hey Megan,” Kento acknowledged his friend.
“Hey,” was the girl’s response, flat with no emotion.
Sage went over and sat next to the artist, oblivious to the fact that his companion was attracting everyone’s attention except for his and Cye’s.
“Whoa, Meg, you look like a total babe,” Rowen remarked.
The comment got a glance from the girl, “Thanks, I think”
“Hey, what you doing?” Ryo asked the blue-eyed youth.
“I’m drawing,” Megan returned.
“Let me see,” the raven-haired teen said, walking over to the girl and looked at her sketchbook.
“It’s just a sketch for peace of mind,” the Nightling clarified.
“It’s really good,” Ryo complimented.
The girl smiled, appeased. Sage peered over at the drawing; it was a drawing of Robyn, or what looked to be Robyn. Only this girl wore a long dress and in her right hand was a card. This picture was centered in the middle of the paper. The figure on the paper stood straight up, long hair falling to her waist. 6 smaller forms circled the girl. Above the girl’s head stood a angel, or what looked like an angel. It has black pant and shirt on, yet long glorious white wings stretched from her back. It looked a bit like Megan. To the right of the angel stood a man with a large shield. He wore boots and armor, in his right hand was a large spear. Under the figure in a border of ribbon was the word Libra. In a small way the warrior looked like Rowen. To the next figure was a young man, looking like Kento, wearing a munk like garb, a hood over his head. His title was bordered by ribbon also, it read Virgo.
At the bottom of the girl in the center, stood two figures. Both wore robes, but the taller one had their face showing. The non-hooded figure had Sage’s haircut and eyes. The other figure was a hooded female. This pair had the title Gemini under them. To the left of Gemini stood a picture of Cye, but this Cye wore long garments of a stately manner. A side-ways eight floated above his head. It’s title read Aries. The final figure was above the Aries and below the angel. This picture looked to be Ryo, he wore medieval armor and two swords hung in his hands. His title floated beneath him, it read Leo.
“Uh…Meg, are these pictures of us?” Ryo questioned the brunette.
“Well…yes,” the girl replied.
“How’d you know our horoscopes?” Rowen interrogated the Nightling.
“Cye and Robyn told me when your birthdays are and I just looked in my little zodiac book to find out your horoscopes. Then I looked what your horoscope was in the tarot,” the brunette explained.
“Oh,” Kento remarked, letting the subject go.
“Well, I’m going to go take a shower then read, and finally sleep. See you guys tomorrow,” the blue-eyed teen justified before going upstairs.
“Megan, want me to call you when the pizza gets here?” the Australian youth asked.
“Yeah, just make sure Kento doesn’t eat it all,” the girl teased.
“Hey, that’s not fair!” the burly teen argued.
“Whatever!” Megan called back as she walked into the bathroom.
As soon as the pale-eyed girl was out of sight Rowen loosened up.
“Cye, how can you stand living with two total babes?” the blue-haired ronin inquired.
“Well, to me they’re just friends,” the brunette remarked.
“Friends that are total babes,” Rowen smiled gleefully.
“I’m glad you don’t live here,” Cye appreciated.

“Ding dong!” the doorbell tolled.
“I’ll get it,” Kento called.
The muscular youth rushed to the door, check in hand. Opening the door her smiled at the smell wafting through the doorway.
“Hello, 3 large pizzas, one pepperoni and sausage. One cheese. And one pineapple, mushroom, marsh-mellow, ham, cheese, and peppers,” the delivery boy acknowledged.
“Yeah, here,” the holder of Hardrock replied, handing him the check.
“Enjoy your pizza sir,” the Dominos guys commented before leaving.
With that Kento shut the door and headed towards the living room.
“Pizza’s here!” the burly youth crowed.
The guys crowded around the coffee table to get a piece of the pie.
“Megan, the pizza is here!” the keeper of the Torrent yelled up the stairs.
“Coming!” the girl answered, dashing down the stairs, “Mmmmm, pizza.”
Cye smiled at his female companion’s comment, when he turned to greet her he gasped in surprise.
“What?” the youth Nightling questioned.
“Megan, what are you wearing?” the british teen shot.
The girl looked down at herself. She wore a dark blue robe that was tied at her waist. The robe hung just above here knees, the sleeves were short. The material was fluffy but soft.
“I’m wearing a robe,” the girl returned.
The guys turned to stare at their clueless friend.
“Megan go get real clothes on, please!” Cye snapped.
“Fine, I’ll put some ‘real’ clothes on,” the blue-eyed girl smiled. She quickly pulled off her robe revealing a pair of black boxers with flames and a black, wife-beater shirt.
“Megan,” the English man scowled.
“What?” the girl asked innocently.
The green-eyed teen just shook his head in disbelief, “You’re incredible.”
“Why thank you,” the Nightling replied.
The pale-eyed girl sat next to her British friend, smiling innocently. She grabbed a piece of pepperoni and sausage pizza and started devouring it. After 6 pieces she sat back and began to relax.
“Geez, Megan, you eat almost as much as Kento!” Rowen teased.
“Hey not everyone can be as strong and athletic as me and Kento,” the American returned.
“Yeah Rowen,” the muscular teen chirped, “And guys B.B.Q. tomorrow.”
“Wouldn’t miss it,” the girl replied, curling up on the couch.
Soon the gang became groggy and sluggish. The guys found their places to lie down and sleep. Cye was the only one that wasn’t fully taken over by fatigue. The Australian pulled a blanket over the sleeping girl on the couch; he brushed away a few strands of bronze hair from her face. The form on the sofa moved slightly at the touch but then settled. Cye smiled and walked upstairs to his bedroom to sleep. He didn’t even see the hooded figure in the center of the room, watching him leave.
Good night, Cye of the Torrent. The figure thought before vanishing into the shadows.
