Torch of spirit sought through five;
Drinking strength from immortal fire.
The darkest prison sheds the light.
Turning beneath a pillar of salt.
Burning within a throne of rock.
Floating among the eyes of the ages,
Unmourned by the stream of the sky.

Prologue

The darkness crept into the room as the window curtains played with the wind. The computer screen was the only source of light in the silent domain. The simple glow that flickered on the screen was dull and lonely. As the darkness reached for the light it was cut off but a form in between it and the light. The form quickly typed in a code on her computer. In an instant the screen lit up with reds, blues, oranges and greens. The silence pulled back at this new display of life, then it returned to engulfing the room. The human eyes watched the colors carefully; finally they froze on an image. A large indigo symbol shown on the computer, without warning more symbols appeared in various colors. Pinks, purples, blacks, gray, turquoises, yellows, and reds. The mortal was astonished.
“What does this mean?” The human quickly picked up the phone, dialing a number she waited.
“Great an answering machine,” the girl growled under her breathe, “Ryo, I need to talk to you, it’s Mia. I found something on the comp-” The darkness had found its opportunity, it grabbed the girl.
“NO!” she screamed as she was taken by the silence.
